Accountabilities: Within the delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design and deploy information and telecommunications systems and applications in accordance with WFP corporate standards;
2.     Maintain, upgrade or enhance existing information and telecommunication systems and applications including troubleshooting;
3.     Provide continuing user support including keeping stocks of spare parts and equipment to support the repair and maintenance of IT and telecommunications equipment; provide updates to users on the status of their IT issues in a timely manner;
4.     Resolve a variety of problems and, as necessary, forward issues to the appropriate person or team including interaction with the WFP Global IT Service Desk;
5.     Identify and test new software and hardware for improving and upgrading system performance; install any technology upgrades as required;
6.     Travel to other offices on missions from time to time to support staff with their ICT needs including fixing problems and installing new software and/or hardware;
7.     Allocate and configure equipment (computers, phones, printers etc) for staff members joining or leaving the organization and prepare loan forms to track equipment;
8.     Liaise with service providers (eg. ISPs, mobile network operators) to escalate issues and troubleshoot problems;
9.     Prepare technical specifications and participate in supplier evaluations to facilitate procurement of telecommunication/IT equipment and services at the least cost possible and in line with WFP rules and regulations;
10.  Prepare telecommunication/IT tender documents and carry out technical evaluation of bids and proposals received;
11.  Guide, train and supervise staff maintaining inventory of material and/or database of information, such as, computer related equipment, communications equipment, website content, training material etc;
12.  Guide, train and supervise staff maintaining logs or archives of information, such as computer related logs, trouble tickets, directories, website publications, registries, data warehouses, reports etc;
13.  Deploy and/or disseminate standard material, such as, computer hardware and/or software, applications, programs, directories, telephony, web content, publications, database content, training material etc;
14.  Maintain systems and equipment by carrying out specialized tasks and supervising staff carrying out routine tasks, such as backing up data, monitoring network and systems, servers and peripherals, running systems diagnostics, patch management and system optimization, removing viruses and bad data etc;
15.  Monitor systems, databases and applications;
16.  Maintain web pages, electronic documents, statistical databases; maintain information and knowledge management (IKM) applications and procedures and provide support to IKM users;
17.  Train and support users of technology and systems, such as audio/videoconferences, meetings, databases, registries, networks etc;
18.  Evaluate, develop, and recommend procedures. Participate in discussions on new/revised procedures and practices; interprets and assesses the impact of changes and makes recommendations on follow up actions;
19.  Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related
functional area.

Experience:At least four years of progressively responsible job related experience in information technology or telecommunications or information management, such as, WAN/LAN networking, operating systems, telephone services, radio unit, web design or similar.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Turkish.

Nationality and Residency: The applicant should be either a Turkish national or have a valid Turkish residence at the time of application.

  • Assist the finance manager in collating and reviewing the top 20 journals on a monthly basis for the purpose of the FCCF meeting.
  • Assist the finance manager in reviewing the trial balance on a monthly basis.
Post holder must have a Bachelor’s level degree Enrolled with a recognised accountancy body to complete the CMA  / ACCA exam (Successful completion of Part 1 or Part 2 of the CMA,Successful Completion of 7 papers of the ACCA.) 3 years’ experience in a similar role

  1. Provide reliable and secure driving services by utilizing the assigned IOM vehicle to transport IOM staff members, consultants, and visitors.
  2. Ensure provisions of reliable and safe driving services under critical and hazardous conditions.

  4. Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle to ensure roadworthiness of the same. This includes daily check of tires, brakes, engine oil, battery, fan belt, etc. Ensure that the vehicles undertake regular service intervals
  5. Ensure vehicle, registration, insurance and regular service are taking place in timely manner.
  6. Perform minor repairs, arrange for major repairs, and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times.

  16. Collect and assure safe delivery of important and critical documents, goods, and mails to important entities, in addition to general correspondences and documents. Deliver IOM paperwork to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Protocol Department and follow up on its finalization
  17. Ensure that the steps required by the local rules and regulations (pertaining to driving) are taken in case of involvement in accident
  18. Identify any apparent problems during the trips and report them to the Logistics Assistant.
    The Required Education and Experience:
    Education:
     Secondary School diploma with two years of experience as a driver
     University degree would be considered an advantage.

     Valid Driver’s license.
     Safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:

Contract length: 6 months

The role
The Child Protection manager will act as the technical lead on all child protection-related programming for the Save the Children emergency response in Al-Hassakeh province, North East Syria. The CP manager will be expected, with limited support, to lead on child protection-related assessments, programme design and implementation and coordination with stakeholders in collaboration with colleagues in the North East Syria and the Syria Country Office in Antakya. In addition, she/he will oversee the monitoring & evaluation of child protection activities and assist on relevant donor reporting. The CP PM will also be expected to play a leadership role within a response team, supporting and building the capacity of colleagues.
It is the responsibility of the Child Protection Manager to ensure that capacity is on-going for the effective scale up and also manage the existing Save the Children child protection programmes to increase impact and enable positive change for girls and boys in northeast Syria.
The Child Protection Manager will play a strategic role in the establishment and effective scale up of Save the Children's multi-sector response in northeast Syria, and similarly ensure that the Child Protection interventions are corresponding with the regional child protection programs for Syria response.
It will be the Child Protection Manager's responsibility to ensure that regular monitoring and reporting informs wider evidence building, accountability and learning from children and adults in this unique opportunity for Save the Children to carry out child protection activities in Kurdish governed northeast Syria.
The Child Protection Manager will be responsible for building networks and coordinate with the Kurdish Self Administration, Community Based Organisations, the Inter-agency Community and other Stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
  • Significant Child Protection management experience working in an emergency response contexts or fragile states
  • Previous experience, four years minimum, in designing and implementing child protection programs in complex emergencies is essential.
  • Education to MSc/MA/MEng level in Social Work, Child Welfare, Human rights Law or similar or equivalent field experience.
  • Ability to identify the main gaps in child protection in the given context to inform a holistic response for children.
  • Good knowledge of and experience in using established inter-agency standards and guidelines in child protection, such as the Inter-agency Guidelines on Separated and Unaccompanied Children, the Paris Principles, MRM, SC Child Friendly Spaces Handbook, and the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Settings.
  • Previous experience of managing a team and of project management
  • Experience of working in urban and rural programming, including liaising with local authorities and CBOs on program design and implementation.
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability.
  • Ability to work both in an Advisory and a hands on implementation capacity
  • Experience in capacity building and in strengthening various duty bearers understanding of and response to child protection.
  • Experience of representation and ability to represent SC effectively in external forums.

  • Language skills in Arabic
