Supervision:IT Operations Associate willreport
directly to Administrative Officer in Gaziantep and will be under technical
supervision of International IT Officer in Ankara
Accountabilities: Within the delegated authority,
the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and deploy information
and telecommunications systems and applications in accordance with WFP
corporate standards;
2.
Maintain, upgrade or
enhance existing information and telecommunication systems and applications
including troubleshooting;
3.
Provide continuing user
support including keeping stocks of spare parts and equipment to support the
repair and maintenance of IT and telecommunications equipment; provide updates
to users on the status of their IT issues in a timely manner;
4.
Resolve a variety of problems and, as necessary, forward issues
to the appropriate person or team including interaction with the WFP Global IT
Service Desk;
5.
Identify and test new
software and hardware for improving and upgrading system performance; install
any technology upgrades as required;
6.
Travel to other offices on missions from time to time to support
staff with their ICT needs including fixing problems and installing new
software and/or hardware;
7.
Allocate and configure equipment (computers, phones, printers
etc) for staff members joining or leaving the organization and prepare loan
forms to track equipment;
8.
Liaise with service providers (eg. ISPs, mobile network
operators) to escalate issues and troubleshoot problems;
9.
Prepare technical
specifications and participate in supplier evaluations to facilitate
procurement of telecommunication/IT equipment and services at the least cost possible
and in line with WFP rules and regulations;
10.
Prepare
telecommunication/IT tender documents and carry out technical evaluation of
bids and proposals received;
11. Guide, train and
supervise staff maintaining inventory of material and/or database of information,
such as, computer related equipment, communications equipment, website content,
training material etc;
12. Guide, train and
supervise staff maintaining logs or archives of information, such as computer
related logs, trouble tickets, directories, website publications, registries,
data warehouses, reports etc;
13. Deploy and/or
disseminate standard material, such as, computer hardware and/or software,
applications, programs, directories, telephony, web content, publications,
database content, training material etc;
14. Maintain systems and
equipment by carrying out specialized tasks and supervising staff carrying out
routine tasks, such as backing up data, monitoring network and systems, servers
and peripherals, running systems diagnostics, patch management and system
optimization, removing viruses and bad data etc;
15. Monitor systems,
databases and applications;
16. Maintain web pages,
electronic documents, statistical databases; maintain information and knowledge
management (IKM) applications and procedures and provide support to IKM users;
17. Train and support
users of technology and systems, such as audio/videoconferences, meetings,
databases, registries, networks etc;
18. Evaluate, develop, and
recommend procedures. Participate in discussions on new/revised procedures and
practices; interprets and assesses the impact of changes and makes
recommendations on follow up actions;
19.
Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate
in the related
functional area.
Experience:At least four years of progressively responsible job related
experience in information technology or telecommunications or information
management, such as, WAN/LAN networking, operating systems, telephone services,
radio unit, web design or similar.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and
Turkish.
Nationality and
Residency: The
applicant should be either a Turkish national or have a valid Turkish residence
at the time of application.
