The British Embassy in Amman has vacancies for the position of Entry Clearance Assistant (ECA), Grade - A1 (L).
Purpose of the job:
The main purpose of the job is to provide a high quality, efficient and non-discriminatory visa service that meets published service standards, and to provide all visa applicants with a firm fast and fair service in line with the UK Immigration Rules. UKV&I Amman is one of our busiest posts with an annual intake of approximately 80,000 applications. Duties and responsibilities:
• Supporting Entry Clearance Officers and Entry Clearance Managers in the delivery of the UK Border Agency International Group’s key objectives: secure borders, good decisions and the prevention of immigration crime.
• Data upload, ensuring accuracy and speed. Assisting with filing, photocopying and assisting with preparing decisions for despatching to multiple locations.

Working Hours and Remuneration:
Conditioned working hours are 37 hours per week. The successful applicant would be expected to start work by November 2016 and will also need to pass (or have passed) the necessary internal security clearances and residence requirements before starting work. Pay is on the Embassy A1 scale, starting at JOD 529 per month depending on candidate’s skills and experience. The package also includes a good level of health insurance and an engaging working environment. Leave entitlement is 21 days plus 14 public holidays.

• Receive the appropriate level of standard security clearance;
• All applicants should have the right to live and work in Jordan. The British Embassy does not sponsor work permits.
