KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the general guidance of the Head of Programme and direct supervision of the Programme Officer (In-Kind Food Assistance), the incumbent will be responsible for the following tasks:
  1. Participate in food security related assessments whenever conducted to determine level of need for food assistance for conflict and disaster affected persons in Yemen (participate in initial, rapid and comprehensive food security and nutrition surveys in the country);
  2. Act as a Liaison Focal Point between the GFD Sub Unit and Ministry of Education; provide project management support to MoE as per established targets, policies and procedures;
  3. Follow up and compile MoE distribution daily, weekly and monthly data and support analysis and preparation of reports. Share reports with the Monitoring and Evaluation Sub Unit and input data in the Country Office Management Tool (COMET) for consolidation of Country Office reports;
  4. Act as a Point of contact for resolution of operational queries and issues from and pertaining to MoE’ In-Kind Food Assistance Project. Specifically, follow up and ensure action is taken and feedback is given on the MoE related operational issues recorded by both the Amman and Sana’a Call Centre.
  5. Work with the FLA Sub Unit and Finance to ensure that MoE related payments are settled;
  6. Support the Programme Officer develop food release notes (FRNs) and issuance to Logistics as well as follow up on dispatches and deliveries to the Cooperating Partners;
  7. Initiate and participate in field programme monitoring missions; guide programme implementation and report and correct irregularities;
  8. Provide translation support for the documents requiring translation from English to Arabic and vice-versa;
  9. Perform any other duties as maybe required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Secondary school education, preferably supplemented by courses in humanities/social sciences, development economics or other related field.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English languages.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
• Has facilitated communication with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.).
• Has contributed to implementation of programmes.
•At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience, of which at least one year was closely related to programme functions.
