In Egypt, Save the Children International has been working to ensure that children’s rights are respected, protected and promoted since 1982. We carry out both long-term development work and, more recently emergency humanitarian work.
SCI strategy for livelihoods interventions focuses on refugees’ access to employment and micro-entrepreneurial activities. SCI engaged with the private sector in Greater Cairo to provide livelihoods support across two pathways – wage employment and micro enterprise. SCI livelihoods activities drew on proven packages of intervention through a holistic approach addressing various refugees’ needs to accelerate outcomes for the brief period of implementation for livelihoods support.

ROLE PURPOSE:
The livelihoods field support will be responsible for effective and timely administrative, financial and procurement support for Save the Children’s livelihoods team.

SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Livelihoods Operations officer

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project Implementation:
- Ensure that SCI’s minimum standards of financial, administrative and logistics procedures and country policies are implemented and adhered to the area of responsibility, supporting relevant staff as required.
- Support organizing meetings, workshops and accommodation for the livelihoods operations
- Support keeping and managing assets and consumable materials in the field.
- Financial and administrative coordination for activities planned in the field.
- Support in financial advances and settlements for all field activities and hold the responsibility of cash/goods delivery to the persons of concern.
- Support with the delivery of all participants’ allowances during the technical, apprenticeship trainings and the seed fund delivery.
- Prepare all procurement requests supporting all livelihoods’ operations.
- Attend the bidding analysis committees that related to the livelihoods operations.
- Support the procurement process related to the project implementation.
- Support the transportation needs for the team.
- Support the delivery of the seed fund for the program participants and the purchase of microbusiness equipment and tools.
- Other duties as assigned by the livelihoods operations officers
Reporting and documentation:
- Maintain the weekly report updating the team for the achievements.
- Maintaining proper inventory records of payment, procurement requests, purchase orders

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Essential
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- Minimum two years of experience in finance and administration of field operations.
- Proactive, results orientated and able to remain positive and solutions-focused under pressure
- Clear written and spoken communication skills in English and Arabic
- Proven problem solving skills and ability to provide clear practical solutions to operational challenges
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including, ability to work well both independently and with diverse/international teams, with a good sense of humour
- Demonstrable time management/organisation skills in challenging environments
- Commitment to the mission, vision, values and policies of Save the Children International, with a focus on Anti Fraud policy.
Desirable
- Familiar with African refugee context in Egypt and associated political/cultural sensitivities
- Previous experience (voluntary or waged) with procurement systems.
