Lab Technician

Improving the environmentally safe management and the control of transboundary movements of hazardous wastes in the Arab countries Project

Scope of Work  
Receiving, processing and analyzing samples.·  Conducting tests on samples and experimental processes.·  Using, cleaning and maintaining various types of equipment.·  Handling and storing chemicals and other materials.·  Administrative tasks such as maintaining notebooks, documenting procedures, and· preparing orders and invoices.  Picking-up and delivering items for the lab·  Dealing with inquiries or needs from the visitors and workers·  Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other· persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises  Any other assignment depending on the kind of the business.·  Working time: 5 days/week (Sunday- Thursday) from 9am-5pm·

Key Qualifications
  At least High school diploma.·  At least 3 years of professional work experience in the related areas dealing with chemicals.·  Fluency in both Arabic (working language of the BCRC Egypt) as well as in English (working· language of the Basel Secretariat and UNDP) are a must.  Previous work experience with international agencies projects is an asset.·  Good interaction abilities and professional personal display.·
