Lab Analyst
Improving the environmentally safe management and the control of transboundary movements of hazardous wastes in the Arab countries Project

Scope of Work  
Assists hands on testing process from establishing, conducting test and clean up.·  Develops lab samples required for analysis.·  Prepares analysis solutions for reference and usage.·  Directs and monitors laboratory technicians/technologist on general criteria.·  Prepares and maintains documents to conform to suitable regulatory requirements.·  Conducts simple lab machinery maintenance.·  Attains and conducts prescribed sample tests·  Records all essential data acquired during process and report information to concerned· personnel.  Presents request for replacement of supplies if required.·  Maintains and manages clean and well-arranged work environment.·  Working time: 5 days/week (Sunday- Thursday) from 9am-5pm·

Key Qualifications  
At least Bachelor University Degree in Analytical Chemistry.·  At least 3 years of professional work experience in the related areas dealing with POPs· analysis and hazardous waste management.  Scientific knowledge about the International Environmental Multilateral Agreements and its· relatedness to chemicals and hazardous waste management is an asset.  Proven good analytical and problem solving skills.·
Fluency in both Arabic (working language of the BCRC Egypt) as well as in English (working language of the Basel Secretariat and UNDP) are a must.  Previous work experience with international agencies projects is an asset.·  Proven work experience with MS Office applications is a must.·
