Child Safeguarding:
Level 3:  the role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff

ROLE PURPOSE:
The post holder performs major roles in finance, including implementation of internal SCI accounting and provision of finance SCI procedures in order that the Egypt programme is run in a cost-effective and efficient manner in the fulfilment of its strategic aims.
SCOPE OF ROLE:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project Implementation:
  • Review Monthly payroll for service staff and volunteers
  • Reviewing request for Program advances.
  • Follow-up on receiving due settlements of program advances and sending appropriate reminders for advance holders
  • Settlements of program Advance including reviewing settlement documents and alerting Program team for any supporting documents/actions needed,  preparation of settlement voucher, signing it by the Grant and finance officer and senior finance manager, and ensuring that the settlement reached the checks unit for further action (Reimbursement check or cash deposit)
  • Reviewing payment requests and advising relevant support and program staff for missing documents / approvals.
  • Focal point for support and program staff for any inquiries on financial matters on the operational level
  • Extraction of monthly financial exports and distribution of financial reports
  • Ensure Child Safeguarding standards are understood and met in liaison with the Child Safeguarding focal point.
  • Ensure that project activities are implemented in line with Save the Children’s policies and procedures, and adhering to donor requirements and guidelines;

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Essential:
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or any relevant experience.
  • Recommended a minimum of 2-3 years in finance & accounting experience an INGO environment.
  • Very good experience in Microsoft applications (Excel – Word).
  • Ability to plan and organise a workload that includes diverse tasks and responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated credibility with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of an organization
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Ability to submit a timely and accurately reports and data.
  • Good communication skills and ability to support and deal with different staff member from different functions and government representatives.
